A young Somali woman identified only as Anfac was brutally gang-raped by four men in Nairobi, Kenya, in a shocking assault allegedly masterminded by her husband, Robert Calasow, who resides in the United States.
The horrific attack, which has sparked outrage across social media, was recorded on video and widely circulated online, compounding the trauma and humiliation inflicted upon the victim.
According to reports emerging from Nairobi, the assault was done by one perpetrator named Dekow Alasow and three others.
Sources allege that Calasow, Anfac’s estranged husband, orchestrated the attack as an act of retribution.
The video evidence, described as deeply disturbing, has fuelled calls for swift justice and protection for Anfac, who is now said to be in hiding and in desperate need of support.
Local Somali community leaders in Nairobi have condemned the attack, expressing dismay at the brutality and the subsequent public shaming caused by the video’s dissemination.
“This is an unimaginable violation,” said one community member, who requested anonymity. “Anfac needs justice, and those responsible must face the full force of the law.”
Efforts to locate Anfac and provide her with protection have reportedly been hampered by her need to remain concealed from further harm.
Women’s rights advocates in Nairobi are urging authorities to act decisively, highlighting the case as a stark example of gender-based violence that demands immediate attention.
The circulation of the video online has drawn widespread condemnation, with many on social media platforms demanding accountability for both the perpetrators and those sharing the footage.
“This is not just an attack on Anfac, but on all women,” one activist posted. “She deserves safety, justice, and the chance to heal.”
