Sophie Ikenye, a celebrated veteran journalist known for her impactful work in Kenyan television, is facing a severe health crisis, prompting her family to issue an urgent plea for financial assistance.

According to reports emerging on Sunday, Ikenye has been battling undisclosed serious health issues for the past eight months, leaving her family financially strained as they struggle to cover mounting medical costs.

For the past 8 months, Sophie has been undergoing treatment at different hospitals. “As a family, we have done everything possible to support her medical care, but we have now exhausted all available funds,” a family member said while appealing for help.

In a heartfelt appeal, Ikenye’s family revealed they are seeking to raise KSh 5 million (approximately $38,500 USD) to fund critical surgery and ongoing treatment.

Having exhausted their personal resources, they have turned to the public for support, asking Kenyans to rally behind the beloved media personality during this challenging time.
