I am not a minister in Ruto’s administration – Raila Odinga

Opposition leader Raila Odinga has clearly stated that his party, the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM), is not part of the current government. He pointed out that he does not have a job in President William Ruto’s government.

Odinga made this statement during a press conference on Thursday. This comes after rumours have been spreading that ODM has connections with the ruling party.

“ODM is not in government. I am not a minister in Ruto’s government,” Odinga said. He wanted to make it clear that his party is not working with the government, despite reports suggesting otherwise.

His comments come after several people associated with ODM were appointed to important positions in the government.

This has led to questions about whether the opposition party is still independent.

Odinga emphasised that his party is committed to keeping an eye on the government and making sure it is held accountable.

“Our goal is to serve the Kenyan people from the opposition, not to join those in power,” he added.

His comments have received different reactions. Some experts think he is trying to keep ODM’s reputation strong with its supporters, while others believe there might be some tension in the political situation.
