A woman named Martha died under unclear circumstances after she was taken to the management office of Mezzo Noir, a well-known nightclub in Kampala, on Wednesday night.
Reports say that Martha went into the office of a man called Eddie, who is the brother of the nightclub’s owner, Grace. A little while later, she suddenly collapsed.
Witnesses heard that Eddie quickly ran out of the office to get help from friends, who took Martha to a nearby hospital right away. Sadly, when they arrived, the doctors said she had already died.
The reason why Martha collapsed is not known yet, and there are not many details about what happened in the office before she fell.
The police in Kampala were yet to give more details over the incident and are expected to give a more official statement soon.
They are currently investigating and will talk to witnesses and check any security camera footage from the nightclub.
Sources say that the police have arrested Eddie, Grace, and some other staff members at the bar to help with the investigation. They are being held at Kira Road Police Station in Kampala.
