Jessica Ann Roberts is a 32-year-old transgender woman who was recently selected to join the Lynnwood City Council. However, she decided to step down just days after her appointment.
This decision came after people started criticising her for explicit content she shared on the internet, including her OnlyFans account and graphic posts on Reddit that became known soon after she was chosen on March 10, 2025.
Roberts, born Neil Vincent Roberts, was picked by the Democratic majority council over other candidates, like Army veteran Robert Leutwyler. Her appointment was seen as historic, but attention quickly shifted when news about her OnlyFans account emerged.
On this account, she reportedly shared adult content with 135 paying subscribers. The account has been shut down, but it described her as “a bisexual transwoman” and included explicit details about her body.
Additional controversy arose from posts on Reddit under the name “Other_Ardvark_6105” that were linked to Roberts. These posts allegedly contained dark and graphic fantasies, mentioning women in alarming ways and discussing topics like cannibalism and violence.
While it’s often hard to confirm who wrote these posts on Reddit because of their anonymous nature, some included a suggestive photo that seemed to promote her OnlyFans, which upset many people even more.
The Lynnwood City Council faced criticism for how they selected her. Council President Nick Coelho said they did not know about Roberts’ online history when they chose her. He noted that knowing about her past might have changed their decision.
Other council members agreed, with Patrick Decker expressing his shock at Roberts’ views and activities, saying they did not match the seriousness needed for the City Council.
At a tense council meeting, residents voiced their anger, and some even brought signs showing Roberts’ explicit posts. The council planned to hold a special meeting on March 13 to discuss cancelling her appointment, but before the meeting could happen, Roberts announced she would withdraw.
In a statement to FOX 13 Seattle, she said her personal life does not affect her ability to do the job. However, she chose to step down to avoid being a distraction for the council.
The 32nd District Democrats criticised the council’s decision to reconsider her appointment, with spokesperson Chris Roberts blaming social media accounts like Libs of TikTok for spreading the controversy.
On March 19, the council appointed Robert Leutwyler to the Position 5 seat with a 5-0 vote, bringing an end to the situation.
This incident has sparked discussions about personal privacy, what people do online, and what makes someone qualified for public office, leaving the people of Lynnwood with mixed opinions.
