The well-built former Mr. Kenya shook off police officers who had advanced towards him to effect an arrest for violating child rights.

However, the police overpowered Budi, handcuffed him, and escorted him to Karen Police Station, where they detained him awaiting arraignment in court.

Police arrested the actor and his wife, Wendy Kimingi, outside the Milimani.

As Budi was escorted outside the court premises, he covered his face in utter shame, dressed in a white t-shirt, a green pair of trousers, and a white canvas pair of shoes.

The dramatic arrest occurred soon after Budi and his wife left the court premises, where they had attended a court case.

The DCI detectives pursued the couple in a bid to arrest them and face criminal charges for subjecting their daughter to cruelty.

Mr. Kenya and his wife are facing a charge of being cruel to a child, contrary to Section 25 of the Children Act Number 29 of 2022.

Police accuse the couple of subjecting their child to cruelty on diverse dates between October 22, 2022, and February 10, 2023, at an unknown time within Karen Plains in Lang'ata sub-county in Nairobi.

The couple allegedly tortured the girl by slapping her and pinching her hands, legs, and thighs.

Karen Police Station has detained the two individuals, and they will be arraigned in court tomorrow.

Budi was crowned the 2018 Mr. Kenya at a colourful gala held at The Mall in Westlands, Nairobi.
