Ko Itakura and Hiroki Ito to replace Kim Min-Jae

For considerations that go beyond football to encompass branding, Napoli is considering Japanese defenders Ko Itakura and Hiroki Ito to replace Kim Min-Jae, who is on his way to Bayern Munich.

The South Korean international's transfer to Bayern Munich is widely believed to be finalised, so new coach Rudi Garcia must now identify a deserving heir.

The choice may depend on more than simply their football skills, claim Sky Sport Italia and Calciomercato.com, since President Aurelio De Laurentiis was aware of the enormous boost Kim Min-Jae provided to Napoli's reputation in Asia.

Consequently, he is seeking an individual who can aid in enhancing the club's brand and expanding item sales internationally.

In light of this, the best prospects are in the German Bundesliga.

Ko Itakura, a player for Borussia Monchengladbach, had previously been mentioned in connection with Napoli a few months prior.

Hiroki Ito, a 24-year-old VfB Stuttgart player who is also capable of playing as a right-wing back or a defensive midfielder, has more recently been added to the want list.

Both would cost no more than €20 million, which is far less than certain of the additional options.
